Preparation and study of selected essential oils
Chmelová, Nikola ; Vítová, Eva (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis is focused on the characteristics, effects and use of essential oils. There are also described methods for isolating essential oils from plant materials, identification options methods suitable for assessing their quality. Within the experimental part essential oils of the Plectranthus amboinicus and Mentha piperita were prepared. Ethanol extraction and automatic hexane extraction using Gerhardt Soxtherm instrument were used for the isolation. The substances occurring in the essential oils made of Plectranthus amboinicus and Mentha piperita were analysed using a gas chromatograph with a mass detector. The aim of this thesis was to find out what potentially allergenic substances are contained in essential oils.
Možnosti využití aromaterapie u koní
Němcová, Martina
This bachelor thesis is a literature search that focuses on the possible use of aromatherapy in horses. In the first chapter, aromatherapy is characterized and basic concepts are defined. The second chapter focuses on the origins of aromatherapy and outlines the historical development of aromatherapy in different countries. The third chapter describes the methods of obtaining essential oils, their specificity and the routes of penetration of essential oils into the organism. The properties of the basic six essential oils that are suitable for horses are profiled. The fourth chapter characterizes natural zoopharmacognosy, controlled zoopharmacognosy, and its potential use in aromatherapy in horses. The fifth chapter focuses on the use of aromatherapy in horses. It describes the basic health problems of horses and suitable essential oils for their direct or complementary treatment.
Možnosti využití krmných aditiv ve výkrmu býků
VALTOŠOVÁ, Gabriela
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of additives in fattening bulls. The theoretical part begins with a brief description of the physiology of the ruminant difestion and the main breeds of beef cattle used for fattening. The following is a general description of the additives, their groups and the purpose for which they are used. Chosen additives are described in more detail, especially their effect on overal he-alth, average daily gains or meat quality of slaughtered animals. The practical part were replaces by the recommendations for practise and the comparison of the real feed ration, which is applied in the farm focused on fattening bulls and its theoretical modified verison leading to higher efficiency using additives.
The effect of mycorrhiza on production of plant secondary metabolites
Pikorová, Markéta ; Albrechtová, Jana (advisor) ; Rydlová, Jana (referee)
Mycorhizal symbiosis, mutualistic relationship between symbiotic fungus and plant roots, is ranked among important interspecies interactions. It is indicated that about 90% terrestrial vascular plants live in this symbiosis. Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) is the most often occurring type of mycorrhiza and simultaneously the most often occurring type of symbiosis of higher plants. Approximately 80% of all of plant species form this symbiosis. By symbiotic coexistence with fungus plant often gains benefits as for example higher tolerance against stress factors, resistance against pathogens or improvement of nutrient uptake. In recent years in series of works is detected that mycorrhiza positively influences production of plant secondary metabolites. This influence can display quantitativelyby increase of metabolite in plant and also qualitatively by change spectrum of substances produced. These substances can have importance in different spheres for human. Medicinal research regularly extends spectum of substances with bioactive effect which have origin just in the plant secondary metabolism. Target of this thesis is, by the form of literary retrieval, to create an overview of recent state of research regarding of influence of mycorhizal symbiosis on content of secondary metabolites in plants, especially...

Certified technology of book disinfection by vapours of components of essential oils
Neuvirt, Jiří, ; Volejníková, A.
Methodology for disinfection of books attacked by mould
Volejníková, A. ; Nováková, J. ; Neuvirt, Jiří,

Methodology for application of essential oils and their components for creation of fungistatic effect in repositories of paper artifacts endangered by microbiol attack caused by increased relative humidity

Methodology for defining antifungal activity of vapours of essential oils and their components against mould spores on various substrates
Volejníková, A. ; Neuvirt, Jiří, ; Nováková, J.
